Old Absinthe House, French Qtr, New Orleans, LA

Date: 01/14/2010
Time: Late Evening
Type: Bar
Where: 240 Bourbon Street, New Orleans, LA
Party: Group - mixed

Immediate Impression:
Holy crap this bar is packed...but no it really wasn't! It just doesn't really have alot of room around the big huge bar.

Service:
Forgettable.

Menu/Food:
As a bar it had your staple drinks - their draft beer selection was nothing to write about; I drank them out of their Guinness (all two bottles). My friend ordered a gin and tonic and made in interesting observation - the glass were hot, really HOT! Odd.

Price:
Not cheap! Our two drinks were $13.50 before tip - which I only gave because I've been in the industry.

Final thought:
You have to visit if you go to Bourbon Street, but definitely make this part of a bar crawl. It fills up fast because it is relatively small; don't expect prompt service but do expect a bit of a chip on the shoulder.
